A cravat for Matt Preston!

Also this week, my daughter Alex and I decided we’d enter the Handee Ultra competition for Masterchef to make Matt Preston a paper Cravat!  The prizes are pretty big….$500 weekly plus a chance of winning $10,000!  Wouldn’t that be lovely!  We had lots of fun making them though hehe

Here’s some pics of hubby all dolled up wearing my lovely decorated paper cravat!

Love a man in a suit! lol

This is the folded end of the cravat.  Alexandras is above :) She has embellished hers with beads, a folded flower, and some ribbon…very clever girl!

My Cravat all sketched up before adding ink and glitter :)

It was a bit of fun :) Who knows we might even win something!  Watch this space! lol

Baked things :)

I’ve done some baking this week…I’ve never ever really been a baking person so this is a big deal in my home hehe  I made this lovely shortbread from the Julie Goodwin cookbook (last year’s masterchef) and it turned out so lovely I had to take pics!

These are shortbreads with passionfruit butter spread inside made from icing sugar, butter and passionfruit. Apparently they were so yummy, I was asked for an encore performance today which I have obliged with lol

A ballerina teddy for Isabelle :) …Another diversion lol

I made this little Teddy bear from the Debbie Bliss book I have of teddy patterns.  Comes highly recommended by the way.  The only drawback I do find is that the ‘making up’ instructions are a bit vague.  I’ve changed the ‘making up’ of this one slightly too.  Just because when I stuffed it, the body looked right the opposite way to what the pattern said so I made it that way.  Similarly with the head.

This Teddy bear will be going to live with my niece Isabelle :)   Have fun riding in that new pram ballerina teddy!  Happy birthday Isabelle xx

Something else…not knitting…..a new painting….

Something I’ve been working on for a while that is not knitted….

I have been decorating this plaster cast of a friend of mine’s pregnant belly for ages now.  I think today it’s finally finished :)   I still have to get some spray adhesive or gloss to keep these beads on.
